Question: Quranism Opposed by Friends and Family?

Question: I am very interested in Quranism but I find that my family and friends oppose Quranism and say really bad things about it. What should I do?

Answer: Family and friends are most precious in our lives but is there anything more precious than God himself? If you honestly believe that hadith is not from Allah, then you should leave them. Focus on the Quran.

This does not mean that your family and friends are disbelievers. Far from it. They may have excellent character and that is what Allah seeks from human beings. Sadly, due to those who wish dominate Islam and promote Islamofascism, they have been led to believe that Quranists are the enemies of Islam. Be the best you can be with them. This is what the Quran wants anyway, for you to treat people better than how they treat you (4/86)

It is one of the hardest things having a family that is uber-Sunni and being the one that everyone calls a 'Wahabi' or "You hate Muhammad" whereas it is far from that.

I find myself walking away whenever 'islamic' conversations start because inevitably I will need to comment on the stupidity of some shariah laws and how they have been arrived.

Its a tough life, but as has been said above, one must be merciful with one's family…

This verse is a warning for those who susceptible to social pressure:

He said, "You worship beside God powerless idols due to peer pressure, just to preserve some friendship among you in this worldly life. But then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will disown one another, and curse one another. Your destiny is Hell, wherein you cannot help one another."
